About us

We help people find stability, grow, and move on to independent lives.

Olukazzy Enterprise provides supported housing for vulnerable adults and young people. We offer fully furnished accommodation and look at each person's health, livelihood and the level of support they need. Then we build an individualised care plan with them.

We support rehabilitation and reintegration, education and training, and employability. Every step works towards one goal: independence.

We support people who are rough sleeping, sofa surfing or in temporary accommodation. We also support people seeking asylum or newly granted refugee status, young people leaving foster care, and people recovering from alcohol or drug use. Everyone is welcomed without judgement of their situation or their past.

Mission & vision

Our mission

To provide safe, well-managed homes and person-centred support that help each resident to stabilise, recover, learn the skills they need, and move on with confidence to a fulfilling, independent life.

Director's note

A note from our Director

In our company, our homes are built on kindness, respect and support. We encourage one another, celebrate progress, and offer a helping hand in difficult times. Together, we work towards independence.

You are not defined only by your achievements, but also by how many people you care about. A caring community begins with people who care.

What guides us

Our values

Nine commitments shape how we work with every resident.

  1. Dignity & Respect

We treat everyone with respect and dignity, without judging their situation or their past.

  2. Accountability

We support people to take responsibility for their actions, recovery, behaviour and future.

  3. Quality Accommodation

A house should be a home, not an institution. Our homes are clean, well managed and truly homely.

  4. Skill Acquisition

We focus on practical skills and knowledge that are relevant to employment and independent living.

  5. Safety

We create an environment where residents, staff and the wider community feel physically and emotionally safe.

  6. Autonomy & Independence

Our approach empowers and supports people rather than taking over their daily lives.

  7. Choice & Diversity

Individual opinions, preferences and choices are heard, respected and advocated for. We value and respect diversity and difference.

  8. Community & Network

We build a positive community where people belong and take part. We help them keep healthy relationships with people who are a positive influence.

  9. Individualised Care with Compassion

Support plans are tailored to each person's goals, health needs, background and history. We deliver them with empathy, compassion and commitment.

How we work

How we do it

The process

The journey to independence is about more than stopping alcohol or substance use. Long-term recovery, and helping young people grow into responsible adults, rests on several things together:

  • stable accommodation
  • physical and mental wellbeing
  • social involvement and acceptance
  • taking part in recreational, educational and skill-building activities
  • financial stability through empowerment, employment and budgeting

Together, these build the ability to live independently and improve self-esteem.

The target: a solid bridge

Olukazzy aims to be a solid bridge between where someone is today and a new beginning.

On one side

  • homelessness
  • uncertainty
  • alcohol or substance dependency
  • low self-esteem

A new beginning

  • life free from dependency
  • a healthy social life
  • independent living
  • young people growing into responsible adults

The bridge is anchored by four things:

  • A structured, abstinence-focused environment
  • Rehabilitation
  • Education and skills
  • Social involvement

Working in partnership

We complement other services. We never replace them.

Our service complements other services as part of a multidisciplinary approach, working alongside a wide range of statutory, health and community partners.

  • Local authority services
  • Education providers
  • Community recovery organisations
  • Social workers
  • Homelessness services
  • Drug and alcohol treatment services
  • The NHS
  • Mental health services
  • Criminal justice services

The pathway

Eight stages, walked together

From the first phone call to life after moving on, this is how we support each resident.

  1. Stage 1

    Referral & contact

A person can refer themselves, or be referred by a partner agency, social worker, organisation or family member. We review the information and get in touch.

  2. Stage 2

    Admission & assessment

The resident moves in. We complete the paperwork together and assess their health and the level of support they need.

  3. Stage 3

    Stabilisation

We help the resident settle into their new home and adjust to the change.

  4. Stage 4

    Care plan

In a one-to-one session we agree an individualised care plan and goals with the resident.

  5. Stage 5

    Activities & progress

Activities, education and skill-building towards the agreed goals.

  6. Stage 6

    Ongoing review

We regularly review the support needed, whether the care plan is still right, and progress towards independence. For young people, this includes their education.

  7. Stage 7

    Moving on

The resident is ready for independence and moves on to a fulfilling independent life.

  8. Stage 8

    Follow-up

We encourage residents to stay connected with peer support and their support network.
